⚠️ ICE STORM WEATHER ALERT – NEW LIGHT WATER USERS ⚠️
An ice storm is expected to move into our area. Please be advised that our water system operator has inspected and serviced all generators at the wells, and they are ready for operation in the event of power outages. We are taking proactive steps to help maintain water service during this weather event.
To help protect your home and avoid frozen or broken pipes, please follow these tips:
• Allow faucets to drip slightly during extreme cold, especially overnight
• Open cabinet doors under sinks to allow warm air to circulate around pipes
• Insulate exposed pipes, outdoor faucets, and crawl-space plumbing
• Disconnect and drain outdoor hoses
• Keep your home heated, even if you are away
• Know where your main water shut-off valve is located in case of an emergency
Frozen pipes can burst and cause significant damage once they thaw. Taking these steps now can help prevent costly repairs and water loss.
We will continue to monitor conditions closely and will provide updates if service issues arise. Thank you for your cooperation, and please stay safe during this weather event.
